Last February (06) I had the inner drivers replaced at a very reputable indy in Austin with OEM parts. symtoms were vibration under load, smooth in neutral or coasting. Same symtoms this time. It's my suspicion. And yes I had them replace the inner tripods as well. everything new, no rebuilt stuff, or re-used stuff. difference in price was $300. no brainer, went with the new OEM. The car is currently stock, but put on the dyno the weekend before last and pushed 166hp and 205 tq to the wheels.
I agree they should last the life of the car. the techs are saab trained with one having 25 years experience and the partnership one of the owners did his intership with saab on the way to his eng. degree. I trust these guys!
