This is just great. While mulling over the issues with my 91 900TC shifter, I took our 94 900TC to get an ignition switch problem fixed. After it was fixed (temporarily), it was driven about 5 miles and ITS shift lever just fell over while shifting into 3rd. So it limped to the curb in 2nd gear and I had to have it towed back again. This same thing happened to my 91 a couple of years ago, except in that case the shift lever just broke at the bottom. I didn't have a chance to see if this one broke or if some bolts just came apart. We'll see.
And then I jumped in the 91 this morning and fired it up, just to hear a banging sound from the engine compartment. I listend closely before shutting it down ... the engine seems/sounds fine, but I suspect he A/C compressor broke. This weekend I'll disconnect the drive belt to it and see if it goes away. Hopefully that's all it is... <sheesh>.
