So if I increase the AMM resistance incrementally, what's the optimum upper swing MAX as read at the o2 sensor? The DMM voltage swing readout moves fast & I'm barely able to make note of the low/high numbers. The swing is about .025v to .750v now...should I shoot for .125v to .850v?

New as of tonight...I just checked the timing (16 deg. btdc at +-850 rpm w/vac. hose plugged) & pulled the plugs (recently repl. by prev. owner within the last 10k mi)...they're Bosch Platinum FR6DP. The insulators are very white & deposit free w/some burned oil residue at the base of the threads (turbo blows a bit...some smoke on occasion at idle - oil level has not dropped at all since my 1st OC 600 mi ago). Additionally, all the plugs were a little loose w/the #1 & #4 being VERY loose...no ratchet needed to remove them :( AND they were all gapped to a very wide .030"/.762mm which is 1.5mm more than spec.

The piston tops look completely carbon free & I'm only x1 day/30mi into a tank treated w/Techron. I added a bottle of Lucas fuel treatment to the 1st tank of gas, so either that stuff is really good - or the eng. was clean to begin with.

Sooo, I know NGK BCP7ES is the preferred plug (is BCP6ES for cold climates only?) & I've never seen the value of platinum plugs over copper ones, but as these are fairly new plugs...can I get away w/cleaning & correctly re-gapping them? ----- Before you answer that - here's a curve ball...I've also got a set (x8 actually) of brandy new Bosch Super Plus dual electrode FR7LDC+ plugs (found them in the trunk of a BMW 540i at the same bone yard from which I rescued the 87' 900t we're talking about) & I'm VERY curious...any reason not to try them? I've got a few days to kill before my new cat arrives - opinions please.

General info...current mileage is +- 95k, the car has good boost & is running fine with the exception of stumbling & stalling 20 sec. after a perfect cold start, followed by a bit of surging until the engine is warmed up. All vacuum leaks (that I could find) have been corrected...though I can blow & suck air through the valve on top of the charcoal canister - is that normal? Many Thanks.
