Seafoam on a 93 900S (ABS)

I've got a 93 900S that is a bit wonky with idle and went to try Seafoam in it. I've used the stuff on other cars and had good experiences with it improving the overall smoothness of the car running, and really wanted to give it a shot in my 900. I have ABS, though, so no vaccuum line (that I see) going into the brake booster like the other car's I've used it on. So, I tried adding the 1/3 can via the small vaccuum line going into the intake manifold by unhooking the one at the fuel pressure regulator and sucking from that line. A verrrry little bit of smoke came out the back while adding, but after shutting the car off and waiting 15 or so minutes, I fired it back up expecting a smoke show and...nothing. No real change.
Is there a better vac line to add it with? I am a bit cautious adding the stuff too quickly, so maybe I just added it too slowly and it all burned off before sitting in the engine? Car has 130K miles and never been cleaned, so I would be expecting much more coming out the back.
Or, should I take it to the local indie shop and have them try their BG fuel system treatment? My idle is a bit wonky, some knocking at idle, and wanted to try this as the first attempt.
