Thanks vvackOmatic, I just did the testing that Ari suggested in his post on this subject, and found
that the heated wire in the AMM did not exhibit the Burn-Off Glow after shutdown ( this should occur at twenty seconds after shut-off for the LH 2.4 in this car and should last for about one second according to Ari, Bentley says it happens at 4 seconds, but appartently this is only true for LH 2.2 models ) I checked for the one second duration of 4 Volt burn-off power at pins 1 and 4 of the the disconnected harness connector ( after running the car up to 2500 RPM as Ari suggests with the AMM disconncected, ...man did it run rough !! ) I found the one second duration of 4 volt power being supplied by the LH control unit to the harness connector was there at the 20 second interval, so I think the AMM is the suspect. I think I'll try buying an eBay AMM and plug it in. Fingers crossed...... ( Car is a 5-speed so there is no dash pot on the throttle body, but I'll definately check the throttle setting screw once the AMM is replaced, ... and hopefully the car is idling smoothly..... Thanks for your help !
