Re: vvack-are these the only engine mods you are running Posted by vvack0matic [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: vvack-are these the only engine mods you are running, nicknick ![]() |
i took out the boost pressure override under the dash, but other than that i was building the car for the max mph per gallon i could get.
for the longest time it i was running the 2.5 bar with no mods, just the over boost switch over road and was able to boost to mid red on good days,
(right after a new install of ngks)
before i put the mods on today the car was boosting just to the start of red, with the mods..... holy crow....
i dont know what kind of gas mileage i will get with them but it sure is fun.
if my gas milage drops from 35 to 27 or under with the mods im going back with the stock.
all its been before i installed any mods was tuning the motor to get it to run and idle like new.
now that is there its time i get to play... hmm hmm
i see there is a fuel cut off switch, i over road the over boost switch, but how is the fuel cut off over road?
im reading if i boost past mid red the car will have automatic fuel cut off by using this switch.
i located it under the dash but have no idea what to do with it.
and about the mods.. what a dream,
i had the 9000 injectors in just before the install of the red tip injectors, and found the wast gate opened in a blink of an eye with the 9000`s i thought the red tips would do much the same, (after reaching all out boost)
i am surprised the motor boost flawlessly, right to mid red before i let up.
but only time can tell if ill keep the mods (gas mileage)
driving 1000 miles with out mods (gets 35 mph, hwy)and then driving 1000 miles with... im thinking will rip a hole in the gas budget.
but anyhow... you or anyone out there know the proper way to over rider the fuel cut off switch?
