Yes, a 91+ c900 console will allow fitment of the wider, later seats. You will need to fabricate/have fabricated some provision to mount the seats.
I recently sold some early 90s c900 seats to a Saaber who put them into a 9000: note that he discovered that it is an internet *myth* that the seats are the same. From his description, there are a number of minor differences between them that make it harder to put c900 seats into a 9000 vs. the other way around.
How "easy" a swap is depends on your abilities/experience/attitude, etc. For someone who can handle a MIG welder, it's not that big a deal.
I have an 3-door 89T with the stoopid "mouse" belts. I like the seats, which are similar to but not the same as 9000 seats. They don't make noise and shift when I sit in them, the adjustment controls work better, and I find them to be overall more comfortable than the seats in my 86.
