Hi, seeing how transmissions are far from being an area of expertise for me, I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction with this.
My 90 900T auto moves through all the gears as I would expect, but when upshifting it seems to be grabbing the next gear a bit too suddenly, creating sort of a thump...kind of like what you would feel/hear on a manual tranny if you let off the clutch too quickly. This problem is minor or nonexistant when the engine/tranny are cold and seems to get worse as things heat up. Also, I only notice it when it shifts from 1st to 2nd (not from 2nd to 3rd).
I've had the fluid flushed, the filter changed, and the bands adjusted, with no effect on this problem. I'm tending to think it's the governor, but I don't want to start attacking the problem haphazardly.
Anyone feeling that they know exactly what is causing this? And better yet, anyone know a solution?
