Link suggests that rain exposes the weld problem, and you said rain shouldn't be a factor. Sounds more like you want to start at the a/c.
Confirm whether your front floors are wet, under the rug and the foamy sound/heat insulation layer. Gotta get your hand on the floorboard. I'm going to guess it is, and the water's migrating back, and pooling in the back, but not in the front. But I know convertibles have their own nuances. In my case, the seal between the firewall lip and the A/C condenser housing that passes through behind glove box had shrunk, and was allowing drained A/C condensation to come in from the engine bay. So, to look from the outside, the drains were working.
There's also the usual culprits: windshield leak, shifter rod/firewall leak. You might get luck and have a clogged drain somewhere.
In any case, you'd be best served pulling the rugs and insulation to dry out and track it down. Could be ugly with rust down there, brace yourself. Also helpful to pull the knee bolster, if you narrow the problem down to the firewall area.
