Alternator bolt torque and accidental oil leak fix(?)

Im going to put new bushings on the alternator and its adjuster arm and I was wondering how much torque the long bolt that holds the alternator to the bracket (pivot bolt?) and the bolt that holds the adjustment arm to the engine. I imagine torquing them too much would squish the bushings. The old bushings crumbled when removed because all of the oil that had been spraying around my firewall area penetrated the rubber and rendered them useless. The oil would leak onto the belts and get flung all over. I looked around many times for the leak but could never pinpoint it. Then my water pump went out. Doing a bit of research here, a chap called Anders (thanks for the tip btw) mentioned to put thread sealant on the two long bolts as there are oil passages in the area behind the screws. I did what he recommended, got the car slapped back toghther and drove it for a week. I heard my alternator screeching every so often and noticed the alternator was easily moved so Im now in the process of waiting for the bushings. I didnt notice it for a while, but the car hasnt dripped oil on my driveway since I changed the water pump. Lucky fix perhaps?
