Cracked fuel return line below FPR (hard plastic)

Hey guys. Well, fix one, break 2. This weekend I put in a new FPR and rubber return line on my 90 SPG.
I just smelled gas near my car (always a big uh oh especially the day after I'd opened the fuel system up).
Looked underhood and sure enough, the hard plastic RETURN line has a small hairline crack at the end/fitting, where it connects to the 3 foot rubber section of fuel return line that then goes up to underside of the FPR. (I just replaced this 3 foot rubber section so I guess my messing with it caused the failure)
Dang.
So -- now what? Where does one get this line? I checked a couple site sponsors and don't see it. I'm open to fixing it... I've fixed breaks in the hard lines before w/ 2 fittings and rubber hose... but in this case, I've just got a rubber hose and a hard line.
Should I cut off the fitting, use heat, repress in the metal fitting further down the plastic line, then use a longer rubber hose? This seems like a recipe for disaster in very limited working space down there.
