If one slides tightly into the other then the clamp should do the job just fine. I haven't seen this setup before but i'm guessing the fixed flange on the one end is common to a variety of vehicles and the short(?) straight pipe is the interchangeable bit that allows it to be used with a specific model. The only thing you might want to do is goop up the connection with some exhaust cement before clamping it together.
As i said, I'm not familiar with this particular brand of converter . . . but i have had problems with the fit of certain units in the past. So, before you put everything together make sure that the assembled length of the replacement converter is the same length as the original. If it is too long or too short you may get clearance problems where the pipes go over the rear axle. I hate a rattling exhaust!
