Sounds similiar to the system sold by eEuroparts.

Should have one end with welded flange. That connects to the down pipe.

Other end with short pipe and four bolt flange connects to long pipe that goes back to muffler. Short pipe allows for slight adjustments in overall length of tailpipe.

No additioal sealers or are needed. Make sure you have the corect gaskets to connect the pipes together. If you look at the eEuroparts.com web site (http://www.eeuroparts.com/searchresults.aspx?&carid=1044&cat=1015), you can see a picture of the exhaust that will show the different components including the gaskets.

Also, real important to use high temp anti-seize on the bolts and nuts.

One thing to consider is this, your exhaust system may be welded and if so, you will have your hands full. You may want to opt to buy the complete system from eEuroparts. I did and found it was a direct fit (from exhaust manifold back), reasonably priced and in the end, easier to replace the entire system instead of trying to piece-meal parts.
