Thanks for the help...
My original post may not have been very clearly worded (halfway through a case of negra modelo)- what is alarming to me is that this is the second replacement starter that has failed- The first, bad bendix, ok, a dud... but two in a row having the same mechanical defect?
I am fairly confident the ignition is acting properly, and not staying engaged.
I will more closly inspect this one once its out for unusual wear, but in your opinion, what would the odds be of getting *two* starters in a row, both "re-manufactured" Boschs from the same source, both with a bond between the gear and shaft that fails after two/three weeks of light daily driving?
