Long story very short. Transplanted an engine from a 87ish N/A 900 into my 89 N/A 16v. I had a friend who is by trade a very good saab mechanic, do the work. However at the time he was very busy and passed it off to his new assistant whom was apparently far less competent than he or even I. It was rewired completly wrong to say the least.

I have 4 2wire connectors in the engine bay. I need to hook up the AIC, the knock sensor and the NTC sensor. I spent most of today with a multimeter following wires back to the brain and these are whats left to hook up.the plugs are as follows..

1. blue plug with black wire and yellow wire. Yellow wire tests continuity to pin 13 on ECU, black to 2-7, 21, 26, 35 so i assume its a ground. This HAS to be the NTC sensor right???? but with a brand new NTC sensor i get the 4 flash CEL for the first few minutes the car runs.

2. Black plug with blue/red and blue/white wires. B/R shows cont. to pins 4,21,27 and B/W shows cont to pin 33. This is to the AIC by my reckoning, as pin 33 should be AIC on LH 2.4 yes???? this was plugged into knock sensor :]

3. Black plug with Blue/Red and Brown wires. As the brown wire shows cont to pin 32, and the B/R to pin 18... I think this must be to cold start valve (which i do not have)

4. Grey plug with brown and green wires. Green wire tests to pins 4 and 21, but with a good bit of resistance. Brown wire tests continuity with 2-7,21,26,35 just as black on first plug... (must be a ground? or a bad short:) I'm guessing this is the knock sensor wire, am i right? it was plugged into the AIC. Which is probably why the AIC isnt working.

it is well possible that the harness has been spliced before i owned the car, which might be why i cant make sense of this. thanks in advance for any help, no matter how small.
