hummm....if the block is showing it's crosshatching and the bores are not scored on the thrust sides of the piston sweeps then as long as the bearings are in good order, I'd say put it in as is. For the cost of the bearings, I'd personally replace them anyway...it'll improve the oil pressure. More important areas are oil pump and timing chain/guides...this is where I'd spend the money. Good Saab blocks of your vintage can do 2-300K if well looked after. My current 85 900T now has an 88 2.0 block that I rebuilt 2 years ago. It had 100K. I spent about $500 on new bearing, a light hone...standard sized high compression S pistons/2.1 head...reused my T3 Turbo and it flies down the road!
