Live fast, die young, as they say. If only he hadn't had "wrong thoughts."
I've heard that reindeer as sled pullers leave a lot to be desired, only one speed and that's fast, and you need to carry a pole to poke at things to keep the sled on the trail, and to keep it slowed down when you're going downhill.
If the sled tips over and dumps you out the reindeer keep on going without you. Or they stop dead and start pawing the snow for moss if they get hungry.
Some Swedish settlers in northern Maine early in the 1900s captured our moose young and used them to plow the land they had cleared.
Almost the same animal the Europeans call elk only bigger. There's a famous old photo, a moose and a horse harnessed up together.
