If your not losing brake fluid, then you don't have a leak. Could be the fuild is leaking by the seals in the clutch master cylinder internally. On my 87/9000 turbo, the car was hard to engage into first gear with-out grinding. So I was thinking to just flush the old fluid out and add new. DOT.4-only. This really made a difference. What had happen is over the years brake fluid collects moister and causes the pedal to compress the fluid thus using up travel length that allows the column of fluid to push the clutch pressure plate fully. Just imagine a liquid rod that moves. If the rod can be compressed than then the length suffers and won't allow the device to work properly. You only have so much travel in the master cylinder to work the slave and if the fluid has moister it will use some of this length with-out moving anything. Replacing the fluid worked great for me. One thing about the Saab 900 stick is there's no engine removal. If you have a power bleeder, this is the best way as sometimes pumping the fluid out will cause the clutch pedal to go to the floor. Brake fluid and antifreeze are good for about three years. Most of the time these never get replaced. How old is yours ??? I just did a complete flush on a 92/900 turbo automatics brake system with good results. You won't have to completely replace the whole brake system fluid as the reservoir is closest to the clutch. Just siphon off the top reservoir with a turkey baster and fill. I hope this does it for you.
