the unit with the bad bearing [the bearing parts were laying on the bottom of the trans]has 134,000. the owner was going 70 and the car dropped down to 30 and he limped it home. He gave the car to me, [a 1991 with no rust at all] and I drove it home at 55 miles an hour. It had a whine when you decelerated. I'm sure that was the pinion gear with no bearing to hold it. the other trans has no reverse. I have the left and right differential bearing housings out, and the differential out. do I have to take out the other end in order to push the pinion bearing houseing out.
