nothing to be worried about Posted by vvack0matic [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Rear Wheel Bearing question, ZAAB ![]() |
the rear wheel spinning only once and the other twice can be chalked up to having the e-brake set just a little to tight on the one wheel, nothing to be alarmed about,
doing the rear trailing arm bushings is just like having a cup of tea,
i used a combo of two jacks, the floor jack to hold the rear axle in place as i unbolted the arm, along with the spare tire jack positioned right under the trailing arm to lift it just enough to take the load off the front bushing, then knocked the bolt out the front, unbolted the housing and had myself a ball getting the bushing out, & in.
with the combo of two jacks there is no need to remove the spring, however the lower shock bolt needs to be removed along with the rear trailing arm bolts.
with the spare tire jack under the trailing arm spring, after the rear bolts have been removed the arm can be adjusted up and down making it possible for the front bolt running through the front bushing to have no load on it, removal and installation of this bolt will go with out a hitch.
keeping the spare tire jack under the trailing arm will keep the hole unit together for easy replacement of the rear shock bolt and rear trailing arm bolt.
if your wondering how to get the bushing out of the housing after you have the housing in hand, i made good use of a vice and bolts to push the bushing out ill include pics.
