shape. you are supposed to remove old fabric from front and back tack strips, then reattach to those. there is a small amount that wraps around the sides-you will need to look for evidence of adhesive from the old fabric to see ezactly where to have fabric, and where not to. strech the fabric tight, and it works fine. depending on how much you had remaining from the old fabric, this may be easy or not to decifer. good luck.
BTW, i did this job last year, and except for a couple of tight corners at the back of the headliner, the entire job still looks 100% (now installed in the spg).
