The headliner portion can be held in place by the trim around it but its tricky - there are a couple of excellent step by step instructions on this site and included in the faq.
Here are a couple of tips - use the 3M high temp spray only - its called hi tack 76 - your glue needs to withstand the high cabin temps;
Make sure to secure the area around the dome light and handles when you pull the "reinforced press board" from the vehicle. Otherwise it will bend and possibly break in half;
Mine's a four a door and with the front seats all the way forward and back seat down I was able to remove the headliner out through the trunk - despite what Bentley says;
Having the front seats fully upright - provides a support as you lower your headliner and when you go to reinstall;
Make sure your sunroof fabric is cut well oversize as you will be tucking parts of it under the trim - it took me awhile to figure out how to do this because its not obvious especially at the rear end of the sunroof- but a couple of really clear posts helped me on this;
Consider some sort of sound insulation on the metal roof and sun roof area - following a few poeple's advice I did this and it makes a big difference in cabin noise- I used a commbination of rubber spray across the entire roof area and then "felt" in strategic areas where vibration is bad across the back area behind the sun roof;
Consider some sort of sound insulation in or around the A pillars - these act as noise carriers - though there is debate about whether expanding foam and even plugging them is wise;
Check the overehead wiring and evaporator lines for integrity - better to do it now than later;
Buy enough fabric to do the side "pads" at the parcel shelf. Consider insulation under the parcel shelf (if you have one).
