Twinsaabs has a pretty good (but incomplete) description of sunroof headliner replacement with pics--see link below.
The headliner on the sunroof is sewn to a plastic strip at the forward and rear ends. That plastic strip clips onto the sunroof underframe and stretches the fabric taut. Then, about an inch of the fabric needs to be wrapped around the sides and glued to the backside of the sunroof underframe.
More than likely, the plastic strips are cracked or broken. I reused mine by just holding the pieces together with strapping tape. Some people say you can just glue the fabric on the frame in place of the plastic strips. I'd be concerned about sagging, since the plastic strips are what keeps the fabric taut. I'm sure there is another option, like tacking the fabric to a thin piece of metal or wood and screwing that on in place of the plastic strips.
