Folks,
If any of you have done this before...
Managed to locate and remove the rear and middle pair of bolts, to
remove the old, mostly-gone heat sheld. I have a new heat shield
waiting to be installed, as well as a new MSS exhaust. The single front fitting is strange; it appears to be a washer attached to the heat shield; however looking at the old shield, there's no bolt or screw. Could it have been tack-welded in place?
Am now struggling to get the centre heating duct off, the duct that
goes to the back seats. It does not appear to be screwed in, yet I
can't budge it. Do I have to remove the knee bolster and main duct,
or do I have to remove the seats?
Utterly confused. This project could take one of two turns,
depending. If it's a welding job, I'll simply assemble the rest of
the MSS exhaust and have somebody with a lift do it; if it's the seats
that have to go, I have to drive the half hour to the nearest auto
parts store and get the right Torx fiting.
Advice urgently welcome !!
Thanks in advance !!!!!!!!!!!!
Cheers,
Rob in Vermont
