Removal of Trans at Junk Yard Card

Hello,
I am trying to remove a manual transmission from a junkyard car. There may be some problems that I am hoping to avoid.
1) This place is a 2 hour round trip for me, so forgetting something is a big problem.
Here we go:
I am at the point where I am suppose to compress the suspension and put the spacer in the upper A-arm and body to take compression off the suspension.
* THere are no jacks. There are large A frame engine hoists. Any suggestions?
I then need to remove the half axles from the transmission. When I did this for my daily driver, I had removed the steering knuckle completely to press in new bearings. I really didn't need to follow a set of directions.
I have the instructions on the pdf based file that are posted here and about. Please keep in mind that the suspension is HEAVILY rusted and I have no power tools.
*What is the easiest way to remove the half axle from the transmission? Please be detailed if you could?
OK, both of the half axles are out and everything else is free to maneuver after clipping, etc. I've chopped off the exhaust and removed the front engine mount and the passenger engine mount. I do not understand the whole deal with the driver mount.
*Can anyone give me a link to a diagram of what is in that protective little box?
I appreciate your help!
Lee
