if you reduce the size of each pipe after the muffler to equalize the flow to that of the single pipe shouldn't be a problem. But...
The muffler is installed at an angle underneath the car and I don't think there is enough room to split the pipe before the axle. Saab (like most auto manufacturers) also located the exhaust opposite the fuel tank inlet. I'm not sure you want a hot pipe directly beneath that area. Especially as low as the fuel inlet is on these cars. There is also no corresponding notch in the bumper on the right side to accommodate an additional pipe exit. Many 4-bangers that have duel exhaust use a rear mounted muffler that is parallel to the rear axle and have an inlet and outlet on one side and a single outlet on the other. I can't say for sure, but I don't believe there is enough room back there under the car for that kind of setup.
