Austin, I would do all of the work while the engine is out of the car that you can, do the head, put the exhaust manifold on, then put the turbo on, rememeber there is a bracket from the engine that the lower two bolts of the turbo go thru, can't put those in yet, AND the larger issue is getting the lower oil return line from the turbo to the block in. Here is the way I finally found after much time and aggravation, I put the oil return line on the turbo before I put the turbo on the exhaust manifold and bracket BUT I only put the two bolts in about half way to allow for movement of the tube and yet they are *started* and gasket is in place, put the green O ring on the tube (not in the block - check to make sure one is not there), lower turbo to the manifold, align the tube and press in, it's very precise fit, after it's in then slip the metal washer between turbo and manifold and do the first bolt, do the other three and making sure the lower to are through the bracket, use antisieze, you can get to the lower bolt that is closer to the left side easier with all of the turbo hoses off (distributor too - put it in after engine is in the car), after it's all tight THEN go back to the lower OIL line and tighten the two bolts (you did put in a new washer, right?) from below with a long 3/8 inch extension and the 12 or 13 mm bolts. You can do the upper one now too, you can do the upper water line (13mm wrench) now too if you have water cooled, do the lower one and route the line across the face of the transmission and bolt on, hook the rubber line from the split up *after* engine in car. Hey, take pictures and post too, ok?
