When you say "lock control unit," are you talking about the switch in the driver's door or the control unit/relay box above the passenger's feet? The system is pretty bloody simple - the position of the switch in the door tells the control unit over the passenger's feet to apply +12v or -12v and the rest of the locks respond. If the locks aren't working, it's one unit or the other, or the voltage supply, or the ground. I'd pull the control unit and test it's output while moving the switch around... My money is on the control unit - I've had a bunch fail in the past couple years - I think they're coming due. :)
