You can get the Erikkson rebuilt tranny through the Saabsite for $1650 plus $150 shipping. If you've get a garage and have plenty of time, its a fairly easy swap - worst part is getting the engine and transmission lined up on the mounts when you put it back in (only really frustrating part of the process - a lot on jiggling the hoist). Otherwise, it is straight up wrenching; unbolt this unbolt that, then reverse the process. I did mine over a period of a month a few hours each evening (including harvesting the parts from another Saab-like doing it twice). If you want to go marathon, and considering you already have a manual tranny set-up (mine was a conversion), I suspect you could accomplish this over a long weekend at a cost more like $2,000 (less if you don't need a new clutch and pressure plate) than $3,000. An indy shop will charge you about $1500 to do the swap.
