My opinion - which is not a well-educated one - was to not use a worn/ mystery miles turbo but instead buy and provide a rebuild, however, my mechanic - not officially being a shop mechanic - has reserved the right to do what he wants and will install the questionable part (one that has been doubted by multiple people with some knowledge on this site). There's more than that, but yes, I do realize there is a lot more involved than just slapping parts in. All I did was come on here to ask questions about a brake job I am struggling with and next thing I know it I am being pulled into an online version of Dr. Phil. In any event, I appreciate people's advice and hope to be able to put some of it to use, although people need a natural feel for mechanical things to succeed - and I lack that.
