Hard wire the neutral safety switch?

Has anybody looked into the idea of hardwiring the neutral safety switch? This has been the one problem that has been creeping up every year or so. My 1990 900 Turbo Convertible has been more and more finicky about starting, in the cool morning great but when the temps get up in the 90’s and you drive around and stop I will have to push the gear stick forward to get it started. Sometimes the car will have to sit for 30 min. before starting, and then it does no problems. After replacing the neutral safety switch everything runs great for the next year. Another question is why would the heat affect the switch? I leave the top down almost all of the time, so I was thinking that condensation; I have tried putting grease in the switch, spraying wd40 and nothing seem to help make the switch last any longer. So that’s the dilemma and not that it’s a huge deal to change it out and it’s not even that expensive to replace, but I can see sometime in the near future GM saying we don’t need that part anymore!
Any ideas or help would be great.
