The classic 900 has double A-arm suspension with a low center of gravity on the drive train and great front to rear balance. I don't notice as much body roll when cornering around a tight curve. I own two 900, a 92/900t, and 91/900s, and their much better in road handling than my 96/NG900s. Once saw an advertisement about the New Generation Saab's handling better than the Classic 900's. I just don't feel this. Just the other night the road were frozen with snow and ice. I was surprised by how much the ABS system came into play with the 96/900s. Earlier I was out with the 92/900t and hardly had the ABS come on. Switched cars because the two c900's are automatic transmission, and I don't want to chance getting stuck and harming the auto trans.. The NG900 is based on a Vector Opel chassis and definately isn't the same suspension. The other thing is the classic Saab engine is in-line and the newer Saab is a transversed engine. I don't know if the centrifugal effect of engine rotation has anything to do with the driving/preformance differences. The classic's are better IMO,Saabnutt.
