call me crazy, bought an '85 spg!

We'd been hunting for a replacement for my wife's 9000 that died but she ended up finding herself another (non-Saab) car. In the course of our searching I came across a 1985 spg that didn't seem in too terrible of condition, little to no rust, and ended up buying it sight unseen. Risky but who knows. Since it's going to be my project car instead of my daily driver, I figure it can have some issues and not be so aggravating when it does. I'm waiting for the car to be shipped. Can't wait for it to arrive. I saw someone on here had posted about this car earlier in February, but didn't see that until I had bought it. This is the one with the cloth seats that were replaced at some point, but I contacted a dealer who confirmed it was an spg. (Not that it makes much difference with an 85 anyway).
Anything especially that I should look out for? I know 85's were susceptible to wiring degradation issues. Other than that, seems to be like most other 900's. Except when I search for parts that parts for 86+ are shown, but not for '85. Are there that many differences between 85 and 86+ really, besides front end, disributor, APC, and some switches?
As far as wiring goes, if some rewiring is needed, what kind of wire should be used? I've done some home rewiring, but I'd like to know if there is a certain kind of wiring best used for automotive use that can withstand extreme temperatures.
And I know I"m going to have to deal with the brake calipers at some point just like on my old 87, but still can't wait to get back into a hatchback! (It's been since 2002, convertibles ever since for some reason, easier to find I guess).
