No beef here! most the older Saabers have own a VW at one time. My comparison is that they both use Bosch systems. Hey, are you aware that your Saab has German parts on it, like a VW. I just never heard about oil filters sitting with oil in them (Cold) and no pressure, just to fall apart. I'm pretty clear on what I know and the things I don't know about, I'll ask. I sure wouldn't want a filter coming apart from sitting. It would be nice of you to share some important imformation with all of use on this matter. I get over 3k ore more from my mantainance of all my cars and that says something of my abilities and the product I choose to use. This site has always been about sharing, just never heard such a thing as filter rotting apart from sitting? Doesn't matter how many products are produced, some are just going to fail due to quality control issues. There was a guy that couldn't believe that there was a few degrees before and after TDC and BDC that the movement of the piston was without up-down movement after I gave a posting about this. Just keeping an open mind at what you said. Some change their oil filter every second oil change. I do every change. Depends on how you feel about cheap engine insurance. I didn't do the labatory test on "Fram" filters, somebody else did and the decision was that there not the best. I use to like seeing the cool orange color in the engine compartment. Can your find the artical about the filter failure so were all safe from this failure. Gotta go change my muffler bearing now!.
