Now at a couple of races ago a Nissan Z team was having overheating and didn't have a spare and no new radiator could be sourced and so I suggested, and they did this, that they take the radiator out, get some of the CLR or Lime away (the stuff in the small bottle with flip up tip, not the spray bottle, the flip up is the hi concentration stuff... the good stuff) and plug up one end of the radiator (lots of holes to plug, and Don't break the res return fitting, that's a killer...

And put some distilled water in, about a quart, and then about 1/3-1/2 of the lime away, shake it not stirred, and leave it sit overnight. next day figure out how to orient it so that the up side is not down for it to soak that side, shake it again... sits over night. I pour the stuff in the toliet you do what the locals want, then do it all over again with the remains of the bottle. It's a 3-4 day job. You might get lucky and clean out all of the crap... You can shake it from time to time too, think doing marinade for days in the fridge...

The only have overnight and it did clean enough out to work. The Saab radiator is pretty simple inside, there are channels from side to side, then end tanks are just a cap with no baffels of any sort. So if you can plug the openings and stand on the END of the radiator, an fill to over half capacity (what is that anyway?), do the shake it on the hour or something, then turn it over and stand on the other end... you may get luck.

PS - if you have the brass radiator with black exterior I don't know that this will help as much as a newer style aluminum with black plastic end caps.
