C900 is truely 'quirky', 9000 starts to be more Posted by nicknick [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: 9000 vs 900, canada karl, Tue, 24 Nov 2009 18:11:40 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
maintstream in design and looks. It is faster than a 900, but the 900 feels fast and more solid (dense, maybe?). I have always loved the look of a 3 door hatch, especially the SPG/T16/Aero, obviously.Something about it, from just about every angle. I don't see that in a 9000, although the Aero/Carlsson type look is very nice, it's just not really very sexy.
Aside from that, there are many differences in the execution of the task. C900 has the quirky engine-over-transmission, longditude mounted, with a chain drive on the front. The result of that is a clutch that can be done with no effort, and in little time (with the right set of very simple/cheap tools). The weight distribution ends up great for snow (not that the 9000 isn't great in the snow, i understand), as the entire unit is in front of the axle. The way a well running, tight C900t runs is just something else.
The bad part about C900's is the weakness of the trans. I fear i may,one day, just not be able to find one, and have to give up my 2 C900's. It will be a sad day...
