Don't start driving it around! Does sound like the Posted by nicknick [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: clutch-less update, Sky, Sun, 28 Mar 2010 09:23:09 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
master cylinder has gone. There is absolutely no way fluid can get on the clutch pedal without the seal going on the MC. I would, however, clean it off the pedal, get right up there and look at the back of the MC. You'll need to be upside down, with your head by the pedals (hence clean pedal first), looking up under the dash. The master is held on with 2 bolts, although on the last one i removed i had one bolt and one nut, so not sure what you should expect. Look at the master and see where it is wet. Dry it off, bleed the clutch and look again to see where/if it is wet. At this point you will know for sure that it is the MC, and you will have to get a replacement-used is not really an option, as it will probably fail soon after being put into service.Eeuroparts (site sponser) is great, they give free shipping 1-3 days. I would just buy a complete cylinder, and not rebuild it. Also, do not touch scantech for this kind of thing (most things!), it's not worth the grief. And don't drive the car! As blue87 says, worry about the transmission/engine mounts/etc. It's also dangerous. Get a cab/bus/cycle while you wait for the unit to arrive! Good luck
