rob,
Well the differential is really thought of as an integral part of the C900 transaxle. The ring and pinion gears are "matched" and the pinion gear in the manual 5 speed (or the older 4 speed) is the same as the transmission main shaft, it's one shaft that serves both functions. In the T37 automatic the pinion gear is also the output gear of the transmission. When I was rebuilding those it was not uncommon to get a T37 automatic with destroyed final drive gears but salvageable transmission components and vice-versa. I could make one good unit from the two bad ones but it was a lot more work than simply rebuilding a tired unit. That was several years ago and now all of those units are older and have way more mileage on them. Sight-unseen a unit with a destroyed final drive wouldn't have much, if any, value as the demand for rebuilt T37s is very small now. So to answer your question, yes, the rebuilt unit includes the differential and any new parts related to the differential e.g. inner driver seals and pinion bearings. Obviously I can't speak for Eriksson Industries (call them) but it's typical in the industry that cores with major damage, like a broken differential, will have much lower value. Considering the weight of a T37 the cost of freighting a badly broken core to the rebuilder may even exceed it's value.
