If Saab kept them flat back to hide all of those dents in the plastic, then,they must have anticipated.
A moment ago, I examined the kit, and it seams the only solution is to develop another mounting system.
Even if one was to re-finish the panels, they more than likely would still warp due to that stupid "sliding/mounting" system. The sliding/mounting system has to be done away with.
I am thinking of after refinishing
1. small rivets right through the kit into the body like the previous aero kit hat Saab sold. Then it would be a matter of a way to conceal the rivets. Perhaps a wider rubber moulding that would cover the small black rivets?
2. A way to fasten some fasterners inside the kit that would go through holes in the body, that one could bolt a washer/nut and tighten from the inside of the door/quarter panel?
The next inquiry is how to straighten the panels once they are off..
Sand? What type of filler?
