Never thought about that before. So, "in theory" any 4 cylinder, 4 stroke engine runs just fine with the distributor out of phase by 90 degrees. In fact, "out of phase" has no meaning here. Am I understanding you correctly?
Back to the two cars, both were running fine until recently when both have some idling issue when hot. I adjusted the idles a bit faster but did not solve the problem completely. Timing was on my 2nd tier of adjustments. Next step on the 8V would be the mixture. Not sure what to do with the 16V though.
Thanks
