I'm not so sure a roll-in chain is possible at this point. Rolling the chain in implies that you are keeping the crank and cam(s)in time during the rolling-in process.
If the chain is already broken, and the motor has been turned over several times, the crank and cam have to be re-timed together, which is best done with the timing cover removed.
Also, it's likely that the guides need replacing, as well, and I wouldn't want to trust that all the bits were out of there without seeing it for myself.
But that's just the way I'd do it.
