I *really* like 3M's detailing products. They are made of materials that fell to earth from space or something, but they work positively wonderfully.
FWIW, I used Turtle Wax Polishing Compound on a pair of red convertibles that had been terrifically oxidized. I was stunned at how good they each looked when I was done, just with a simple hand application. I'm generally not a fan of modern Turtle Wax products, but the stuff was cheap and I didn't particularly care about the results on the first car anyway, so it was experimental. It was good enough that I used it again, and would recommend it. Once I'd polished with the Turtle Wax, I followed with the 3M Hand Glaze and 3M Perfect-It Show car paste wax (which is AMAZING, though synthetic and not pure carnauba, which puts people off).
