You'll know when you do a compression test. Leaking oil has nothing to do with burning oil (inside the engine), two different problems but don't bother fixing the leaks until you know why it's burning oil and the crankcase is smoking. Smoke in the filler tube and oil spraying from it can mean excessive blow-by due to a broken or bound up piston ring or a cracked piston (like the car I'm fixing right now).
