the easy way is to do a head gasket job and have the machinist take it out.... but if you are going to do it in the car... the middle and forward ones are usually possible but not fun. if that one snapped chances are that the others are brittle and may go as well. removing the entire exhaust manifold makes getting at most of them workable. if you get it off then using a steel punch on the center of the broken stud, smack it several times, hard... then you will need a sharp drill bit that is just smaller than the threads in the stud and is sized for the ez-out or broken stud tool you have (it should say on the box what size bit) and see if you can get a good angle with your drill. you may need a 90 degree drill. take it slow and stay straight. drill. then screw the ez-out or broken stud tool into that whole and then dry to ease it out. CAUTION if the stud does not start out right away try forward and backwards letting it cool between.. You may need to work on it without the ez-out, run a tap in the whole to clean it up MAYBE. EZ-Outs are brittle and very very hard. you break it off and you WILL have to take the head to a machine shop. all in all my suggestion is to do a head gasket and replace all seven of them with new ones. best of luck!
