Agreed:
The Easy OUTs are not easy to get out if you break off a tip in the stud, in the head.
I broke off a stud, then broke off an easyOUT in the stud, recessed in the head...the only saving grace was that I was doing the HG, so the head was out.
I should have brought it to a machine shop at that point, but I am stupid and did it myself.
To flatten out the stud (Regardless of an easy-out stuck in it) I used a carbide BURR, which drilled a flat surface to tap another carbide bit into the stud (in my case it was to drill through the easyout which was in the stud, in the head).
THAT SUCKED, and cost ~50 dollars worth of bits.
IN the end, I had a hole that was a bit too big for the new exhaust stud, so I filled it with JBweld and the new stud, and let it harden overnight.
So far, over a year later, no problems, but F.#!?, that sucked.
just do the HG and bring it to a shop.
