Good flares are a pain - no two ways about that! You may find backing off the union in both directions and then retightening solves the issue. Or maybe not.
As far as bleeding, as long as the tube to the T on the rear axle didn't go dry, you probably only need to bleed that one wheel. All the air would be trapped in a single line and bled out of one wheel.
