My mechanic friends have told me that if the former engine ran OK they would transfer the engine management components to the replacement engine. That way any new issues should be caused by the new block. In your case that would include the AIC valve with it's hoses as mentioned by RS. It would also mean you'd need the 91 injectors and throttle body. The distributor is the same from 88-94.
