My '89 SPG has done that ever since I got it 14 years ago. Probably did it to the previous owner for years before that.
It's probably related to leak-back through the check valve on the fuel pump, or injector leakage, or poor contact through the bulkhead fitting terminal that ultimately feeds power to the pump.
Installing newer injectors in this car last summer decreased the time between cranking and firing up, but didn't bring it back to the instantaneous firing up that my '88 SPG had.
