2000 RPM idle after jump start

I've been doing body work and have had the doors open, draining the battery. I've jump started the car a handful of times so I could drive around. No issues.
Last night a neighbor jumpstarted the car. It idled fine. I stopped the car after 10 minutes of idling because I need the key chain to go inside my house. I come back and turn the ignition but the car won't start.
I try to jump start the car again, but it was if the car wasn't getting any power from the other car. No lights when I switched the ignition on. I thanked the neighbor and he went off.
Called AAA. The mechanic was able to start the car, but the car's idle races now. The floor is 1800 RPM and then it revs to about 2100 and then drops to the floor and does it again rhythmically—cycles through every second or so. Also, the mechanic said the battery had a bad cell. I took the battery to Sears (it's under warranty), but they charged it and said the battery checked out.
Is the idle problem electrical related? The battery and idling issues are not coincidental.
Thanks all
