the drivers seat is my main impediment. for whatever reason the front plate was really rusty and wouldn't seat right without a lot of manhandling... just getting that thing in and out is a big challenge, especially in the cold!
thanks zig... that was my feeling also - lever up actuates switch, closes circuit, turns on light... maybe something about how that switch is kinked over and that I could have broken/damaged a wire made me wonder if it could be a NC... then again, the car was on ramps for like 4 months with the ebrake engaged, and there was some sticking in the rear calipers initially (well, not initially rolling out of the garage, but as soon as I pressed the real brake: grind grind grind)... seems lessened now (rotors were rusted from sitting and are now cleaner), but I hope the ebrake tab on one (or more) of the calipers isn't the real problem here... maybe I'll get lucky and adjusting the cable will solve it... I'd better pull that stupid drivers seat again... grrr...
